I love me some MHRP. It's a fantastic game. Young Avengers/Runaways is a wonderful supplement to Civil War (the provided Mini-Event will absolutely see use in my campaign).
I do have a request, however.
I realize that, in an attempt to maintain open narrative and interpretation, there are times when things go mentioned briefly, but largely unexplained. However (and I cannot imagine I am the only one here), when it comes to things that are largely specific, like weaponry and vehicles, could we have a brief detailing of appearance (at minimum a picture) and a phrase or sentence or two providing a base-line of abilities?
In Civil War this issue pops up with "Atlantean Weaponry", in Young Avengers/Runaways we have it with "Kree Weaponry" and an evocative, yet absolutely nebulous thing called a "pocket battlefield". Sure, I can Google this stuff on my own, but in truth, I shouldn't have to. (And, having actually Googled these things, it doesn't really help.)
I am not asking for a definitive Marvel gear presentation (although that would be awesome!), I am really just wanting a hint or three -- something that provides an illustration of expected performance and estimated capability. The beauty of the MHRP system is its narrative style and shifting value of plot. This works brilliantly when Punisher picks up a Derringer and one-shots a tough bad guy. This falls a bit short when we say "Kree Weaponry D8" and expect anyone buying the product to immediately understand what that means.
And yes, I can make this stuff up on my own; I have been doing that for 35 years. I am playing in the Marvel Universe, so I would like it to be something similar (at the minimum) to what Marvel has already demonstrated.
Thanks!
Doc
