If I read correctly, the Spaceknights or a distress call from them or something was what brought the current Annihilators together. Maybe that means that ROM and company will show up in the Annihilation Event?

ROM won't. He's a licensed character so Marvel doesn't own the rights to him. Similar to the situation with the Micronauts. Your best bet is some of the Space Knights that Marvel does own due to a variety of factors. Like Ikon from Annihilators.

I'm putting another vote in for the original Secret Wars. It's a fantastic crossover event with lots of potential repercussions and fallout that could be turned into supplements.

According to the current schedule of releases, Age of Apocalypse is already in the works and should be out sometime around August or September. And sadly, Longshot was not a member of the X-Men at the time.

I definitely support the mini-Event book idea and for the Kree-Skrull War.

I thought Secret Wars did have a few cool things happen--It was a fun read at the very least. But even if the story isn't one of the best, the situation actually does make a decent RPG scenario.

But in the end, I think it's just too old, out of date, and quirky to spend an entire event book on.

I would love to play a fan-made Secret Wars though.

By the way, Marvel just reissued the Kree-Skrull War in a great big hardcover.

It probably counts as Marvel's first event qua event, even though there was little or no book crossover going on during the storyline.

As its been pointed out several times, the Infinity Trilogy and the Secret Invasion would both make great event books.

To cover silver age more like an Event you could take inspiration from the Marvels line. While the original series took place over a long period of time you could base things around the eventual appearance of Galactus to form a rough action structure. That would allow you to take inspiration, and art, from all the modern re-imaginings that Marvel has done, where new artists take on the origin stories of the classic teams.

Or people can just take the various released stuff and kitbash their own events. I'm sure Galactus will be in the Annihilation stuff. So we'll see what happens.
