spider-history question

spider-history question

Postby Sith Lady Jynx » Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:45 pm

Was spider-man excreting his webbing "naturally" during the "civil war" time frame? If no then wouldn't his "swing line" power set still be a separate power set and not mixed into his "spider powers" power set? Ultimately just adding the "iron spider" power set as a third power set like dr strange?

If yes, he does shoot them "naturally", wouldn't the spider tracer sfx still be gear based? So mixed in to the "iron spider" power set?

Or is there some biography that I'm ignorant to?

Thanx

Yes, he had organic web shooters at the time of Civil War.

The stats in the book are correct.

Also, there's nothing to say that power sets have to be broken out in a particular way...like natural vs. equipment.

You could feasibly lump everything into a single power set...or split your power sets by Offense/Defense...or split them all by powers that you likely use on given days of the week.

You can use any power set grouping convention that works for your concept and your group.

Thank you Duck Call Lass. I stopped picking up Spider-Man when the clone saga chimed back in and didn't restart until the civil war; then into back in black.

MidnightBlue you're completely accurate in character concepts can alter data files based on need and interpretation at anyones "table". So how the developers perseption Iron Spider and that interpretation in the CW release caught my attention. Considering the sfx is a technological device that's planted onto "what have you" and emits a signal that can be received by technology and some other SPB's, but mainly it coincides with Spider-Man's spider-sence, is the idea of gear thus the iron suit. Just batting it around in my head. No biggy.

Thanx you 2

Didn't he also have an invisibility power during the Civil War as well?

Wait, didn't the suit make webbing for him? It didn't actually come out of his body like it did in Ultimate Spider-man, right?

These were au natural abilities that came around The Other storyline. His spider sense was more refined (I would have his senses boosted to superhuman senses d10), he was at least twice as strong (no change), had the stingers (weapon d8 covers this), and he could also control/communicate with arachnids (Arachnid control d6 or a Senses stunt maybe)?

I loved most of The Other storyline...but as usual...as soon as it was done...the authors all seemed to forget about the changes made.

Oh every now and again he'd pop his "stingers," but it is a rarity.

I always hate that in major storylines. The consequences and revelations don't seem to last much past the storyline's conclusion.

Take the many great Batman storylines...Cataclysm/No Man's Land, Bruce Wayne Murderer/Fugative, etc. How many times are we going to see the equation: Terrible Tragedy Happens - Batman Feels The Need To Go Old School And Pushes Away His Friends/Allies By Being...Well...A Grumpy Jerk (to keep this family friendly) - Batman Comes To Realize That He Doesn't Need To Do Things Alone And Apologises (as much as he ever does) To His Friends/Allies - Tragedy Is Overcome.

Those were great stories and really showed a deep Batman. Then the next storyline rolls around and all is forgotten.

Okay...minor gripe is over.

It's funny you said that MidnightBlue. I was just thinking that and how it applies to the XP gained and spent in events then "reset" as per little change for the next event. Second gripe add-on over. Ha
