Civil War Act 1 Scene Question (SPOILERS!)

I'm running CW for my gaming group, and we're coming up to the end of the buildup scenes in act 1.

I have a question about the scene Registration and Super Villains. What villains should I use? I'm not that well-versed in the Marvel-'verse, so I ask who you would send after your heroes.

My players are playing CW Iron Man, Colossus wielding Mjölnir, a Ms. Marvel clone, and an OM-era Iron Man clone, and they're SHIELD-affiliated at this point.

I was thinking of having them assigned to go after a few of the Thunderbolts, to foreshadow their involvement. It also would allow me to split up the party, instead of having them all pound on one villain at a time.

Ideas?

You lost me on something EF. (Don't worry...it isn't hard to do.)

Are these "villains" going to be going after your players?

I.e. they are SHIELD affiliates now, but that is about to change?

You asked which villains would we send after your heroes. Not which villains would we send your heroes after.

Okay...that's long winded.

The question I'm asking:

Are you looking for villains that are Pro (helping SHIELD) or Against (SHIELD is going after)?

Sorry about the garbled first post. At this point, my players are all in SHIELD employ, well except Iron Man, since his player had a power outage and didn't join us last week. So I'm wondering who I should send my heroes to capture.

They could be Pro and looking to "turn a new leaf" or Anti and just want to be left alone.

And you want villains that are avoiding the entire Registration process (even if they are already known)...and not just heroes that are against Registration?

Okay...well, you've got the whole Civil War Thunderbolts crew...

Mac Gargan Venom, Lady Deathstrike, Bullseye, Task Master, Jack O' Lantern, Trickster, Songbird...probably a bunch of others that I'm forgetting.

All of those ended up working for the Thunderbolts...so probably a good selection to go after. (Except for Songbird. She was already a Thunderbolt before then I believe.)

^ Yes, Songbird was a Thunderbolt before Civil War and is also unit commander at this time. She would not fit, the others you mentioned would though.

There are quite a few villian datafiles in the Breakout mini-event at the end of the Basic Game that can be used for this.

It depends what you want to do in that particular scene, there are also villians in the Friends and Foes datafile list in Civil War that may take your fancy.

Take about two for each hero datafile you have (roughly, you may need to reduce it down a bit if they have high dice power-sets) and run the combat after talking breaks down.

Hmm... I'm not up on current Marvel continuity, so some of these may not work.

Sandman (went legit in the 80's, unsure if that stuck)

* Fixer/Techno
* Man-Killer/Amazon
* Plantman/Blackheath
* Cardinal/Harrier
* Gypsy Moth/Skein
* Cyclone
