Heroic Age Thunderbolts on G+ Hangouts/Roll20.net

Heroic Age Thunderbolts on G+ Hangouts/Roll20.net

Postby Shoe » Mon Jul 23, 2012 1:06 pm

I want to run something in Marvel Heroic Roleplaying on Google + in the near future. Looking for 4-6 players who are patient (new system i have read trhough but never run, and I haven't used G+ et either for gaming). I want to try out the system and I dont have a regular group these days IRL. First session or 2 would likely be Breakout from the core book, and then after that I want to run a Thunderbolts campaign based on Luke Cage's t-bolts, but with different, more redeemable villains on the team. I liked the story idea, but I want to change it up and to use villains that are more believable to reform (which is what the T-Bolts should be now).

Timeline is very loose right now as I am in the process of moving. Likely on friday or saturday nights after 8:30 PM PST

I'm up for a game if the sessions are on Friday or Saturday nights. My favorite character picks for campaign play would be either re-imagined Will o' the Wisp, or barring that, Black Tom Cassidy. I can handle the datafile design myself if needed and the Watcher approves.

Would the initial Breakout scenario be played with the eventual Thunderbolts or more heroic characters?

I would actually love to run something along these lines. In real life, though, so no worries about me thievin'.

And, so as to benefit us both, I have a thought/question:

What do some people think would be good villains for recruitment/redemption?

For instance, both Constrictor and Armadillo, two villains prone to trying to Go Straight, actually got convinced to help during my Breakout campaign.

Friday or saturday night every other weekend was my goal. I am free any time after 8:30 PM (PST) on those days.

I started a list on comicvine of some good cannidates for reform.(http://www.comicvine.com/myvine/shoe/thunderbolts-cannidates/75-39397/) Black tom or Will o' the Wisp would both be fine. Part of the first transition scene will be a reimagining of costume/identity to make the villains more heroic. One of the things the original (and most successful at reform) thunderbolts did was change names, costumes and whatnot. I plan on having that be a part of the campaign. It will be very loosly based on Thunderbolts #144-146 at first, with several deveiations.

I am going to run the breakout event with heroes first to get a feel for google+, roll20, the MHRP system and the group of players in general.

It seems like I have pretty good interest, so if people want to PM me email addresses, we can start discussing time and start date! I have a couple of friends back in Missouri (where i lived as a kid) who are game too, so I already have enough interest to start!

Too bad, that that's PST and Friday / Saturday. THat would be during morning / daytime for me and on a day I have regular offline RPG groups - or in case of fridays I even have to work. Otherwise I'd be in :D

it's funny how many people online I've had express interest except for the time zone...even though a lot of game companies are in Washington and California it seems to be a void of gamers :P
