DARKSEID IS.

DARKSEID IS.

Postby Duck Call Lass » Sun Apr 29, 2012 10:46 pm

30th century version for use in the Great Darkness Saga event. Someone tell me if I did a boss villain right?

This guy is meant to take on multiple Superman-level heroes at once and win. The Legion defeated him by inflicting emotional stress -- "You have done that which is beyond imagining. You have shattered the dream of a god." -- rather than punching him out, even though they got some hefty assistance with the punching for a while.

BTW, Darkseid's 20th/21st century stats are a little different. For one thing, he doesn't have stolen power.

So in Legion of Super-Heroes #293, Darkseid mentally enslaves the entire population of the planet Daxam.

According to MHR rules, that means he added 3,000,000,000d6 and kept an extra 3,000,000,000 effect dice.

I've actually been working on a Darkseid build for a while now, having re-read Final Crisis and re-watched Superman: The Animated Series recently. I came up with the following:

Darkseid
Affiliations
Solo 3d10

Distinctions
• Lord and Master of Apokalips
• New God
• In Pursuit of Anti-Life

Power Sets

Supreme God of Apokalips
Godlike Durability d12, Godlike Stamina d12, Godlike Strength d12, Superhuman Speed d10, Superhuman Reflexes d10, Godlike Senses d12
• SFX: Invulnerable: Spend a die from Doom to ignore all physical stress or trauma unless caused by Radion
• SFX: Immunity: Spend a die from Doom to ignore all stress, trauma and complications caused by poison, disease or environmental factors.
• SFX: A God's Might: When adding dice from the Doom Pool, step up the added die by +1.
• SFX: A God's Will: Add d6 and step up effect die by +1 when adding to the Doom Pool.
• SFX: A God's Certainty: Spend a die from Doom to ignore all mental stress or trauma.
• Limit: A God's Disdain: You may not take any direct physical action against any other character unless they attack first, or you spend a d12 from the Doom Pool - Darkseid does not deign to dirty his hands against lesser creatures unless absolutely necessary.

Omega Effect
Omega Beam d12, Cosmic Supremacy d12, Mind Control d10, Telepathy d10, Kinetic Mastery d10, Teleport d12
• SFX: All Shall Fall Before Me: For each additional target, add d6 and keep +1 effect die.
• SFX: My Wrath is Inescapable: Against a single target, step up or double any Omega Effect die, discard the highest-rolling die and then keep three for the total.
• SFX: Life is Suffering: Add d6 and step up effect die by +1 when creating pain-related complications.
• SFX: Your Death Shall Be Slow: Step back physical stress inflicted by -1 to add an additional d6 effect die against the same target.
• Limit: Conscious Activation: If Stressed Out, asleep or unconscious, shutdown Omega Effect. Recover Omega Effect when stress is recovered or you awake. If Emotional Trauma is taken, shutdown Intrusive Mind until trauma is recovered.

Specialities
• Combat Master d10
• Cosmic Master d10
• Menace Master d10
• Psych Master d10
• Science Master d10
• Tech Master d10

Feel free to plunder it for ideas.

Which statistically will result in 500,000,000 rolls of 1, giving half a billion Opportunities to the heroes.

Which nicely explains how such a powerful being could be defeated in the end ;)
