I thought it might be interesting to stat up some of the characters from Marvel's NYC underworld. First, something old...

Not entirely sure about this one. I only vaguely recall the Owl from some of the NYC gangwar stories in the 80's.

Sweet! I'm still hoping for a Hammerhead in Heroclix along with a bunch of other gangsters.

Best Kingpin appearence ever...Spectacular Spider-Man something or other (I have the TPB collection)...Spider-Man, Human Torch, The Thing, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Black Cat, Angel, Dr. Strange and Wong have all gathered for a friendly night of Texas Hold'em...low stakes and the proceeds go to the winner's choice of charity. Then the Kingpin crashes the party and offers to up the stakes. He puts in the briefcase full of money...all he wants is a chance to beat the pants off these heroes.

It was a HILARIOUS read!

Although not usually thought of as a crime boss per se, most of the Green Goblins' activities (and those of the first Hobgoblin) centered around taking control of the NYC crime rackets.

Another Maggia (Marvel's version of the Mafia... one story I read for the name change was pretty interesting) boss, Silvermane was once just a regular human Maggia Don. After some aging issues, his head and internal organs were transplanted into a robotic body.

He originated as a drug lord in Miami, but I believe he has relocated to NYC post-Breakout?

One common theme running through all of these guys is that they're all supposed to be incredibly smart and master tacticians. Well, except for Hammerhead. Makes it a bit hard to differentiate them on the intellectual front.
