Hageto—Heir to the Saiya-Jin Legacy

My buddy wants me to run some Marvel for him and some of his D&D pals. Most of them are fine with using "pregens" but he wants to play his City of Heroes character, an energy/energy blaster named Hageto.

Hageto is based off of Vageta from Dragon Ball Z, a Saiyajin with great pride and physical prowess. Bullheaded at times, but not to the extreme of being foolish.

He (my friend) usually didn't group up, preferring to go it alone or buddy up with me or another friend. That being said, here is my write-up on Hageto.

In MHR, knock back is more flavour than mechanics. Howev, if he wants "moar nockbck!!!" we'll work on it.

And yes, I used to play all the time

Sticky-Fingered Jack, lvl 50 Kin/Rad tech-based defender.
Aina Nightbringer, 38 Dark/Dark science-based defender.
Hunter of the Fallen, 36 Peacebringer, specc'd for crab form.
I also had a 30-something Illusion/Empathy controller, but for the life of me I can't remember his name.

SFX: Moar Nockbck. Add a d6 and step up the effect die by +1 when inflicting distance-related complications.

Shouldn't a blaster have a blast power? My Ice/Ice blaster never got closer than 30m to the action if things went well.

Ki blast d8, under the Ki Manipulation power set. My friend preferred to use the energy manipulation melee attacks, hench his higher Strength power.

Ok, so we played The Bank Job last Tues night, and things went pretty well. We did have a bit of issues with the Super Saiya-jin SFX, though. Going SSJ is just a boost in power output, and doesn't actually cause any harm to the saiya-jin who uses it, so having it be based on Nova Flame seems a bit…off.

I'm thinking about basing it off of Black Panther's mystic armory SFX from CW. In brief, when creating a resource, you can step up or double his weapon or durability power instead of having the asset die. It lasts as long as the asset lasts. But that only affects one power at a time, and Supersaiya-jin affects all powers. Maybe just have it be a resource itself? A combat resource, yeah?

Or perhaps base it off of Cable's latent power SFX? SSJ. Spend a PP to step up or double any number of Saiya-jin Heritage or Ki Manipulation powers. Add a d6 to the doom pool, and step it up by one for each additional power affected. This lasts until the end of the scene.

Any ideas/insights/comments/suggestions?
