My Hulk for Watchers

My Hulk for Watchers

Postby adam » Thu May 31, 2012 6:12 am

I know there's a DLC coming and there's something else about him in civil war, but I need him tonight to go rampage against the avengers. So, if you have some thoughts and critiques, please feel free to comment.

HULK
Solo d10, Buddy d8, Team d6

Distinctions
• Hulk Smash!
• Jade Giant
• He just wants to be left alone

Gamma Ray Mutation Power Set
• Godlike Strenght d12
• Godlike Durability d12
• Godlike Stamina d12
• Leaping d8
• Enhanced Speed d8
• Enhanced Senses d8

SFX
• Area attack
• Invulnerability: spend a doom die to ignore physical stress unless mystical
• Puny Humans: spend a doom die to double Godlike Strenght for an action (same as pulverizer from tombstone and mighty blow from mr. hyde)
• The Madder, the Stronger: when rolling a pool with a Gamma Ray Mutation power in it, spend a doom die to recover emotional or physical stress of equal size and double that power for that action.
• Healing Factor: spend a doom die to recover physical stress or step back physical trauma by -1.
• Immunity: spend a doom die to ignore stress, trauma and complications from radiation, poison and diseases.

Limit: conscious activation

Specialties
• Combat Expert d8
• Menace Expert d8

---

His SFXs are a bit reduntant, but it's not that the hulk has many options when it comes to action, and I think it ensures that he's brutally stronger than anyone (since that by spending smaller doom dice he rolls more d12s).

That looks to me like it would work out well for your purposes.

I don't know. The scene went like this:

• The Thing failed to put a "grappled" complication on the Hulk.

• The Hulk inflicted a d10 stress on the Thing, ignored by invulnerability.

• Wolverine inflicted a d8 physical stress with his claws to the Hulk, ignored by invulnerability.

• Captain America landed a d12 "battle tactics" asset to Thor.

• Thor rolled a total of 20 and an effect of d12 with a mystic thunder-stunt.

• The Hulk reacted with merely d10 solo, d8 jade giant, d8 combat expert (no durability nor invulnerability since it was a mystical attack), and having a total of 5, was one-shotted down by the thunderer.

Gee. And I thought this datafile was too much powerful.

Great way for the players to handle him...though I don't know that I would give hulk the weakness to mystic attacks, simply because of all the times he has shrugged those off too.

Pretty much anything resulting in physical stress he has shaken off...

But hey, we will see...

I actually don't know the hulk and the marvel universe very well. However, usually both the invulnerability SFX and the durability power trait can't be used against mystical attacks by the rules.

Indeed this hulk datafile has always "the madder the stronger" and "healing factor" to shrug off any type of physical stress. But Thor had so much luck with the dice to inflict a d12+++ stress...

Take a peek at the Hulk I made (The Hulk Files). I gave him outright Invulnerability, but had it add to the Doom Pool when he used it. Hulk has no weaknesses physically. He's a match for Thor, and would trounce him without the Mjolnir (not thrash him, but he beats him to a standstill).

But Thor has always been capable of whupping the Hulk if he uses Mjolnir on him. I am honestly really keen to see the official Hulk datafile when it comes out!
I reserve the right to change my opinion the moment I am proven wrong; that's called learning.

That's cool and there's a surprising amount of similarities with my datafile! However, I didn't need a playable Hulk (for now).

I gave him invulnerability but it was adamantium and vibranium attacks that trumped rather than mystical, as those attacks had a lot of effect during WW hulk. This would prevent mystic attacks from being so powerful because as is in your build, Mystic attacks both bypass his durability and ignore his invulnerability.

Also, use jump in hulks reaction pool vs the Thor Mystc lightning stunt--hulk jumps out of way of the bolt.

I'll have the Marvel, please.

Just looked at the official Hulk, and wow - Strongest There Is sfx is ripe for some epic Ro-sham-bos against the likes of Sentry and Ragnarok in Civil War!

Rampaging Hulk which was basically the Void and the use of emotional stress to make Banner transform are also cool and very inventive ways to make the Hulk awaken.

For the fanmade one, I think only The Madder, The Stronger needed a bit of work, as it actually made Hulk calmer after he performs the action - which whilst it balances out the use of that sfx, I felt was not too Hulk-like.

Good job though, I like the use of Puny Humans in the fanmade one, which makes Hulk a consistent one-hitter (great for World-Breaker!)
