Combat Masters??

Sorry, Doc.

I'm new to the forums here. When I made my post, for some reason it was all in a dark red text. I'm red-green color blind, so it was harder to read on the grey background. I was confused, because no one else's posts were displaying in that color, so I edited my post to make the text white.

I didn't realize that there were other settings that would allow folks to make their own backgrounds some whitish color.

Anyway, I can only assume that maybe my text appeared red to me because I was logged in or something. I haven't tried viewing it while logged out, but I'm getting rid of the white coloration.

Soooo... Was there any feedback to my actual post? I mean aside from remarking on how hard it was to read it? :P

It's more likely to cause an opportunity (42% as opposed to 10%) and the most it can add to his total is 6, as opposed to 10. Sure, with some PPs it can go higher, but it'll cost 1 or 2 PPs to get to where a d10 could go.

Wouldn't a fighter pilot have Vehicles Master instead of Combat Master?

I mean, I know that it's "combat" that the pilots are involved in up there, but as broad and generalized as the specialties in this game are, I got the impression that it would be the Vehicles specialty that would cover fighter pilot stuff.

My apologies RQ. The tone of my post was certainly harsher than it needed to be.

And I'd agree with you, a fighter pilot would take Vehicles and use that instead of Combat. The description of each makes this fairly clear. But an argument could be made for a gunner in a vehilce using Combat instead of Vehicles, but the pilot, clearly Vehicles.

My apologies for occasional spelling... shenanigans. I typically post from mobile devices.

I understood from EldritchFire post that the hero was a pilot (and probably has a Vehicle Specialty) and because of that his Combat Specialty is stronger when he is flying with the Flight power he got aftewards.

Since he is a pilot he can handle pretty well shooting at things while flying (d10) but he's only mildly good at fighting hand-to-hand with thugs that got him cornered in a street alley (3d6)

Being in the military, he was trained in hand-to-hand combat, small arms combat, and a variety of vehicular combat. It sounded like Combat Master to me. Though now that you mention it, it probable should be Vehicle Master instead.

When you just made a post, it shows up red. Everyone else sees it in the normal colour. You'll see it in the normal colour as well, if you leave and navigate back to the page. It happens any time you are directed to a specific post instead of to a thread.

For example, this link SHOULD make my post show up in red:
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1029&p=10687#p10687

But THIS link shouldn't:
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1029
