Watcher characters creating assets

Watcher characters creating assets

Postby Claire Redfield » Wed May 02, 2012 3:23 am

Two questions.

1) When Watcher characters create assets, they don't roll against the Doom Pool or other characters, right? They just apply an effect die, if I'm not mistaken.

2) Does this forum have an editing time window? If not, I might move my character database here.

This is correct - in any situation where you would normally roll against the Doom Pool, a Watcher character simply takes the highest die from their dice pool as an effect die and apply that to the situation (creating an asset, overcoming a complication, etc).

I believe this it breaks down like this:

1. If this were a player character, I'd have her roll against the Doom Pool to create the asset. Just have the Watcher character apply the effect die without rolling.

2. If this were a player hero, I'd have her roll against a Watcher character to create the asset. Have the Watcher character roll against the appropriate hero.

Mind you, I could be wrong. You should believe Cam or someone who cites relevant page numbers before me. But the above fits my understanding of the core principle of, "Watcher characters never roll against the Doom Pool or each other."

From what I can tell, its editing capabilities are somewhat less extensive than RPG.Net's. (Yeah, I know. ;) )

Thanks for the confirmation.

RPGNet's forum software only allows you a 24-hour editing window. That's why I don't keep my character builds there; it's impossible to keep an index post, which is really, really, reeeeeaaaaaally helpful for this sort of thing. The link to my database is in my sig (I keep it at Myth-Weavers). If there was no time limit on editing, I might try moving things here.

I started a thread in the Leverage Forum about 3.5 days ago and I can still edit all my posts in it.
