What do you think about this...

What do you think about this...

Having a Power Set without a Power Trait, but has an SFX.

Specifically, my guy "Shimmering Fox" has a suit that allows him to become Invulnerable for short periods of time, however the suit doesnt do anything else.

Would this be statted as follows:

Shimmering Suit

*SFX: Invulnerability - Ignore Physical stress, trauma and complications by spending 1 PP unless caused by electrical.

"Invulnerable for short periods of time" sounds like durability at d6 or d8 with the exhausting limit to me. The invulnerability SFX is there for when the suit is at "max power," capable of deflecting anything.

Plus, with the extensive use of the limit, that's a banks worth of PPs coming your way!

EF's got great points.

My only addition would be that I could see the die rating of Durability to be anything you need though.

The time limit will be incorporated in the limit itself.

You might even want to stack that Durability die with the Invulnerable SFX to REALLY make him Invulnerable while the suit is active.

Of course it will be up to the player/Watcher to make sure that the limit gets used correctly.

SHORT-DURATION INVULNERABILITY SUIT
Durability D12

SFX - Invulnerable

Limit - Exhausted

Concept...something like, the suit can take five stress inducing hits or last for three consecutive rounds before it is drained of all power (player activates Limit)...but power fluctuations can occur (watcher activate's Limit early).

This would be a guy that, for a few seconds, could take whatever a god could dish out. Of course when that protection goes down, I sure hope the character has an exit strategy...

Just my 2 Plot Point:

Depending on how often per scene "Shimmering Fox" can use the Invulnerability of the suit.

SHORT-DURATION INVULNERABILITY SUIT
Durability D12

SFX - Invulnerable: Ignore Physical stress, trauma and complications by Shutting Down unless caused by electrical.

Limit - Gear or Exhausted

If the suit can be used more often than once, Step Back Durability.
