Important news regarding the price point on all MHR hardcovers (Essentials and Premium Event Books) posted today on our site: http://www.margaretweis.com/21-home-pag ... vel-update

Note that this doesn't include the Basic Game or Event Supplements, and does not affect any MWP preorders you may have had. We're working with retailers to find solutions for those who've preordered it through their Preferred Retailer store, too.

These books are just packed with more stuff than we thought, so the changes were necessary. We still think they're a great deal, and remember that when you order a print copy thru us or from one of your Preferred Retailers, that PDF is totally free.

Price increases always suck...but we are getting more product as well...so that's cool.

These are great quality books...I wouldn't expect anything less from MWP.

I appreciate the company being upfront about the changes and transparent in the reasoning behind...something else I've come to expect from the great customer service at MWP.

The three books are still a steal at the new price and of course I'll be buying them.

Was wondering that myself. Good thing I already got the Civil War PDF, but Annaialation's going to be fun to afford if the PDF price goes up too...

Yes, but not by a great deal. PDF of Essentials will now be $23.99, Premium 29.99. That's our standard 60% of MSRP for PDFs. Supplements will be $12.99. Basic Game has definitely been priced for value at $9.99 right now (it will be on sale until GenCon, and possibly after that.)

Just want to say even with the hike in price, it's still a great deal. I will gladly pay it as my gamming group and I greatly enjoy the game and are looking forward to the new products.




p.s., any chance for an operation:galactic storm event? that is a personal favorite storyline from my high school days

Agreed. Hell, raise the price EVEN MORE. I don't care, I'll buy it anyway! BRING IT ON!

The price increase does indeed suck. But it makes sense given the increasing size of these books. Maybe it would be wise to not print the Event Books in Hardcover to try to cut down the price increase a bit. After all, the Operations Manual was softcover and hold up fine. Just a thought.

The bigger problem is the confirmed delay/push of the AoA Event to 2013.

You really don't want an inch-thick Premium event book in softcover. Trust me, these books are better in hardback!
