Marvel Heroic Roleplayng - Release Resource

Marvel Heroic Roleplayng - Release Resource

Postby Beast » Wed Apr 25, 2012 1:52 pm

There's been a lot discussions about upcoming books and what might be included in each one. I was kinda surprised that there wasn't a thread dedicated to the upcoming solicits for the book that have been released. MSRP for the Event Book are $29.99 [Essential] or $39.99 [Premium] and the Supplement Books are MSRP $19.99. Listed Release Dates are subject to change. Just though this would be helpful.

Coming Soon:

MHR: Civil War - Event Book [Premium/Essential] - May 29th

The United States Government has passed the Superhuman Registration Act. Iron Man heads the movement to register everyone with powers or abilities, but Captain America is the rallying figure for the resistance forces opposed to government control. Whose side are you on?

The first major MARVEL HEROES Event covers the polarizing storyline of the award-winning Civil War crossover, from the tragedy of Stamford, CT to the final confrontation between Iron Man’s pro-registration forces and Captain America’s anti-registration rebels. The Event Book details the major decision points during the war and its aftermath, while the Event Supplements add more options, characters, and storylines to expand the Civil War experience.

Premium Editions are full color prestige hardcovers and include all the Essentials Edition content plus the Operations Manual and additional resources.

MHR: Civil War - 50 State Initiative [Supplement] - May

Tony Stark’s grand idea following the Superhuman Registration Act is the Initiative, a coast-to-coast operation that sets up Super Hero teams in every state. Train your heroes at Camp Hammond and set up your team in preparation for the next threat to law and order! Includes a full roster of Initiative members and new trainees ready to drop into your civil War campaign.

MHR: Civil War - Young Avengers/Runaways [Supplement] - May

One team is inspired by the classic Avengers while the other struggles to break free of the criminal legacy of their parents. Both teams are teens with the weight of the world on their shoulders. See how the Civil War affects the next generation of heroes and what their perspective is on the ongoing conflict.

MHR: Civil War - X-Men [Supplement] - June

When the government takes steps to enforce superhuman registration, does this create an opportunity for mutants to step out of the shadows of persecution? Or will it merely shine the spotlight on an existing problem? As the X-Men, X-Force, or another team of mutants, your decision to register or not will change your future forever. Includes a full mutant roster and details on O*N*E and its Sentinels.

MHR: Annihilation - Event Book [Premium/Essential] - July

Xandar, homeworld of the Nova Corps and its supercomputer the Worldmind, has been destroyed. A wave of invaders from the Negative Zone is spreading from galaxy to galaxy, bringing chaos and ruin to everything in its path. Who can stop the Annihilation Wave?

This blockbuster MARVEL HEROES Event covers the sweeping cosmic saga of the Annihilation crossover and the cosmic-level heroes and villains rising up against the invasion. The Event Book includes rules to scale up the game to cosmic level, with heroes such as Nova, Drax, Gamora, and the Heralds of Galactus, plus all major decision points and interstellar locations needed to become a part of the action.

Premium Editions are full color prestige hardcovers and include all the Essentials Edition content plus the Operations Manual and additional resources.

MHR: Annihilation - Annihilation Conquest (Supplement) - July

The Marvel Universe reels from the aftermath of the Annihilation Wave, but there are other intergalactic threats poised to strike in its wake. Uncover the malevolent plans of the Phalanx and form a rag-tag crew of black ops agents to oppose them. Includes datafiles for such fan favorites as Rocket Raccoon, Bug, and Groot, plus a timeline of the Phalanx conquest to continue your cosmic campaign!

MHR: Annihilation - War Of The Kings [Supplement] - August

Black Bolt. Emperor Vulcan. The X-Men. When the Inhumans seize their destiny as the rulers of the Kree, the Shi’ar Empire rises to oppose them, triggering an intergalactic war of devastating consequences. Includes the full lineup of the Imperial Guard, the Inhumans, and the post-Skrull Invasion X-Men.

MHR: Annihilation - Thanos Imperative [Supplement] - August

A rift to another universe has opened and its inhabitants are none too friendly. Whether you choose to set this during Annihilation or after the War of Kings, the Cancerverse presents yet another cosmic threat to deal with. Includes a Thanos Imperative timeline and updated rosters of Marvel’s cosmic heroes and villains.

MHR: Age Of Apocalypse - Event Book [Premium/Essential] - September

The mad mutant Legion has traveled back in time and murdered Professor X, creating an alternate history dominated by the forces of Apocalypse and his Horsemen. All that you knew is no more, replaced by an empire of tyranny and oppression. Will you rise up against Apocalypse? Or do your loyalties lie elsewhere?

This MARVEL HEROES Event reveals the world of the popular X-Men crossover and all of the key storylines and characters that made it a best seller. The Event Book outlines the decision points, data files, and rules for alternate universes and time travel. Event Supplements flesh out this world with updated hero and villain rosters, additional storylines, and popular spinoffs.

Premium Editions are full color prestige hardcovers and include all the Essentials Edition content plus the Operations Manual and additional resources.

MHR: Age Of Apocalypse - Human High Council [Supplement] - November

Magneto’s freedom fighters are not the only opposition to Apocalypse. Join the heroes of the Human High Council, led by Bolivar and Moira Trask, as they seek to use any means necessary to oppose mutant domination, and learn the fate of many non-mutant heroes and villains in the Age Of Apocalypse.

MHR: Age Of Apocalypse - X-Ternals [Supplement] - December

Go into deep space with Gambit and the X-Ternals as they seek to recover the M’Krann Crystal, adding this pivotal storyline to the Age Of Apocalypse Event. Includes additional material on cross-dimensional travel and a look at the ongoing storyline of the Exiles!

Also, Cam gave us a sneak peek of the possible Hero Datafiles for the Civil War Event Book. So I figured I'd follow up with that to keep it updated. From RPG.Net:

"So I thought I would give you a little peek inside the design process and float you the list of 30 hero datafiles I'm considering for the Civil War Event Book. Note that these are the two-pagers, like Cap, with Milestones provided, and not being on this list doesn't mean your favorite hero won't be in the book or, for that matter, that they won't get a two-pager in an Event Supplement. This list includes 10 datafiles that are updates of Breakout versions, and twenty more that weren't in the Basic Game at all. Remember, this is a draft list and bound to change, but I figured it'd be nice to see.

Arachne, Bishop, Black Cat, Cable, Captain America, Cloak, Dagger, Deadpool, Doctor Strange, Falcon, Goliath, Hercules, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Iron Fist (as Daredevil), Iron Man, Luke Cage, Moon Knight, Ms Marvel, Nighthawk, Punisher, She-Hulk, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Sub-Mariner, Tigra, Wasp, Wolverine, Wonder Man, Yellowjacket

Cheers,
Cam

And a bit of a tease from Cam about what we can expect from the Civil War: X-Men Supplement book.

I believe Bishop's been moved to X-Men supplement as a hero datafile.

This supplement will have the X-Men from the Civil War: X-Men storyline, plus the New X-Men (Surge, Mercury, etc) and X-Factor Investigations as hero datafiles. Rachel will also be in there; she shows up to clean up Stamford. If we need to reprint some X-Men from Basic Game we will, though they'll be updated where needed.

Cheers,
Cam

Very handy to see that on this site.

I've seen all of that somewhere or other, sometime or other...but it is a nice reminder on a website that I search every day.

Thanks!

Thanks for compiling & posting that. I'm very interested in seeing what a "real" Event looks like vs the Breakout "mini-event." To go from a few pages to several books seems like a big step up! So I'm definitely looking forward to the Civil War books, even though I haven't read the comics.

The others I'm not so sure that I will pick up. AoA seems like an odd choice, both because it's so old and because it's an alternate reality situation. Playing in the "real" MU is interesting to me. Playing in a short-lived crossover-stunt alternate reality MU, decidedly less so.

Yeah, but Age of Apocalypse was kinda like House of M. It wasn't an alternate reality until later. It was an altered reality. All you have to do is run an event where the world changes. Maybe in this case someone protects your group when it happens... so they don't get changed by the alteration. And then they're thrust into dealing with a world where everything they know is wrong. And they have to make allies and hope that somehow their actions will lead to the restoration of the original timeline. Or depending on the characters, they may prefer the new timeline. Plus the books can be easily hacked for characters who haven't appeared in the other books yet. ;)

personally, i'll be surprised to see bishop listed in the civil war main book. he was more featured in the civil war event for the x men.

of course, he could be featured in both books too.

also, did cam hint of a sneak peek of a few datafile that wasn't featured in any books?

namely thunderbolts in particular?

I'd like to see a sourcebook or maybe a PDF-only product talking about the universe, action scenes, power sets (equipment, artifact, origins), minor watcher characters (like stats for the regular soldier, cop, bystander) and scene distinctions to go with it but nothing tied to a whole event. Something more open-ended to be included in any story.

I know that many of those requests will be spread out across numerous suplements, but what I fear is that maybe I'll need to buy an event that I don't wanna play just because there's a couple of interesting rules there.

i just realized that as well , salsa.
for exampler, i don't want to use a datefile from another book..(sabretooth) from the age of apocalypse book, just because there's no 616 universe version.

also, not looking forward to having to purchase book that has retweeked versions of previously done datafiles. already have 10 in civil war coming (yay)

Am I missing Thor and Hulk? I know they are both insane power and strength wise, but I was hoping they would show up so I would know what a god-tier character looked like.

Also has there been any talk about Evil-Doers? It would be very interesting to see how guys like King-Pin and Norman Osborn are fleshed out. If Onslaught is given stats in one of the books he may make me cry.

one of the reasons neither thor or hulk was available was that hulk was shot into space (leading up to the "planet hulk" storyline and thor was cvonsidered deaseaced after " ragnarok"

Cam had promised that both would be in datafiles as downloadable content.

hope that helps.
