Page 9 of Example of Play

Page 9 of Example of Play

Postby Kasha » Thu Apr 26, 2012 12:50 pm

"Take a PP for that opportunity, and I’ll step up one of the d6s in the doom pool rather than add another d8." - Page 9 of Example Play

I believe the end of the sentence should be a d6 not a d8. As I understand the rules the sentence should be:

Take a PP for that opportunity, and I’ll step up one of the d6s in the doom pool to a d8 rather than add another d6.

Am I mistaken? Someone please help me out here.

That's odd. My copy of the example of play says "and I’ll step up one of the d6s in the doom pool rather than add another d6." Looking around, the copy on both MWP and DTRPG have the typo. That is really odd.

I guess we'll wait for Cam. See what he says.

Oh sweet irony, I just downloaded it earlier today as well. I do not know if an old version is up online?

Looking at the pdf properties (computer geek here) the creation date was March 19th 12:47 and the modified date is March 19th 12:48.

You are correct and the first time I saw the example of play that same mistake was already there. I just opted to ignore it since I wasn't entirely familiar with the rules yet, so I thougt it could be just me missing something.

Mine is actually a pre-release copy. If you look at page 1, my name is the second-to-last listed (Christopher Ruthenbeck). So I'm assuming it was accidentally changed between final proofreading and online publication.

Also, my copy is on my iPad, and I have no idea how to find the creation date in GoodReader.

It is understandable, I am sure there was a list of changes that had to be done for the release. Someone just goofed up I bet and the release copy now has the changed text.

I wish I could tell you how to look up the creation date, but I have only played around with an ipad and never used it seriously. Thank you for looking into it for me though.

I wrote the Example of Play, but I don't have my original document in front of me. There were some last minute changes, and at some point that error may have crept in.

At any rate, it definitely should say d6 and not d8. Good catch!

Yup, there were a couple of fixes made to that section that inadvertently led to Jeremy keeping a d8 in there. It should be a d6.

Cheers,
