Avengers Movie

I thought the movie was a lot of fun! As did my non-comics-fan wife. It does a great job of juggling the different characters and not letting one of them run away with the show. So kudos to all involved. But it's just a bit too busy for me - I would still rate Spider-Man 2 and Iron Man as better movies.

I think Hawkeye got the shaft as far as screen time...

...get it? "The Shaft"...

..."Arrow Shaft"...

sigh!

Your post contradicts itself.

Sorry, that one gave me the quivers.

I thought this thread was about The Avengers. Not The Pun-Isher.

Saw the movie this afternoon with my wife and two boys. Everyone had a great time. I really am glad that the game could probably handle the whole thing, since, you know. That's what you worry about when you're a game designer.

No "official" movie tie-in stuff from us, since we don't have the movie license, but the movie's based on the comics just like our game is, so it's all doable. Hulk and Thor DLC is in the works from us, and won't cost anyone a cent, so that's also a bonus, yes?

Cheers,
Cam
PS: I loved X-Men: First Class, too. Maybe because of Jen Lawrence, though.

Even though there's nothing "official", I think the success of the film gives everyone an excellent opportunity, to strike while the iron is hot and to capitalize on the massive popularity of this amazing film!

And yes, as I watched The Avengers I was marveling at how so much of the action could be conveyed and done with this game system (kudos again, Cam!). My lifelong favorite Supers RPG (Villains and Vigilantes, which I've been playing since 1982) is a brilliant system, but so much of the epic battle in this movie would have been so difficult (almost impossible) to play through with it. With MHR, on the other hand, I think it could be done quite smoothly and almost effortlessly!

@MidnightBlue: I hear you on "A New Hope"; it's been my favorite movie since 1977, but movies like this one and a few others are right up there with it!

Those that don't care for Whedon: I can appreciate that he's not for everyone, but I think the man is an amazingly brilliant writer. His work on Astonishing X-Men was top-notch (one of the best comics runs of all-time), and I think the incredible success of this film will vault him to the A-list.

Just assure us you stayed through the second, genuine Easter Egg!

Yes indeed, I saw both Easter Egg credit endings. My 9 year old made sure a lot of people did, too, as he stood up and yelled at people leaving the theater.
