What happens when the Authority parks its shiftship in orbit above Marvel’s 616?

Right on. This first Ellis/Hitch run still holds up. Fine builds as well.

Very cool!

This is another comic that I haven't read, though everyone tells me I should.

One of these days...one of these days...

Brilliant stuff.

Only the first 12 issues of volume 1 are really worth reading. According to wiki, they were collected in the hardcover Absolute Authority #1 and the TPBs Relentless and Under New Management (which also has the start of the Millar/Quietly run).

Cool write-ups. Tweaks you might consider:

1. Most of these folks are single-power-set characters. It's usually worth giving those either Multipower or Versatile. Unless you envision these being used with the "any two power-traits" house rule, in which case: never mind. :)

2. More than one of them have a re-skinned Growing Doom SFX. Based on my experience playing Sentry as a PC, I caution against this SFX for player-heroes. The effects are pretty sweeping. It's not just that twice as many dice become Opportunities. It's that that also means fewer than half as many dice become effect-die candidates. (Because all the 2s get knocked out of your result as well as all the ones.) Your hero ends up being less doom-haunted than incompetent, IME.

Addendum: Cam has an erratum for Growing Doom over in the Flash thread that may make it a more viable PC option.

wow, I got a plug for my thread. Excelsior!

Seriously though, nothing says "this is a bunch of PC characters doing whatever the hell they want in an RPG" like the Hitch/Ellis run of Authority. They would be a blast to play.

You know their GM was all over the RPG fora of the Bleed asking how he could get his players to take the game seriously.
