Thanks!

Thanks for your kind words. If she uses my Datafile then please tell me how it goes if it's not too much trouble.

How do you think I should handle the "Not supposed to use your powers" situation after the Tag game? Should that just be a complication?

Time for milestones!

Tag! You're it!
  • 1 XP when you instigate a game of Tag with your sisters.
  • 3XP when you raise the Doom Pool enough to include 2D12 in your game of tag.
  • 10 XP when you either see the destruction you caused and agree with Professor's orders to not use your powers OR shrug it off and remain ignorant to the lessons you must learn about power and responsibility.

The Help the Town And Make It a Better Place Machine
  • 1 XP when when you agree to help Jojo to construct his volcanotop device.
  • 3XP when you accompany him to the zoo in the final preparations for his plan.
  • 10 XP when Mojo makes his offer and you either see things is way and join him OR defy him and defeat him.

We're Superheroes!
  • 1 XP when you refuse to use your powers at Professor's orders.
  • 3XP when you use your powers to help somebody who cannot help themselves.
  • 10 XP when either fly away in emotional turmoil never to be seen again OR realize your duty and kick monster butt.

Sorry for the wait everybody. The first act of the movie is almost done, but it took a bit longer than I had anticipated. I'll have it up tomorrow I hope.

It will be a relief to be able to do something more straightforward once this is done, because this movie has proven to be quite the pain to adapt.

But I also can't wait to start writing the opening action scene in the second act. It's a pretty interesting situation, I think.

The Powerpuff Girls Movie Event: Act One

Postby June Jazz » Sun May 20, 2012 4:12 pm

After staggering amounts of procrastination, here's The Powerpuff Girls Movie Act One first draft. Scene Distinctions are Bolded, Capitalized and Underlined.

I'm noticing a lack of transition scenes and I'm not sure how to fix that.

------------

The City of Townsville
The City Of Townsville is in some serious trouble. Day after day Crime, Lawlessness and Evil Are Running Rampant. Its mayor is an infantile little man, its police force has given up, and nobody is safe. Its citizens have lost all hope and are in desperate need of a true hero! But who? Is there anybody who can help this forsaken town and make it a better place?

Pokey Oaks
The neighborhood where the Powerpuff Girls live. Little Rows of Happy Little Houses line the streets and the recent Urban Renewal Efforts have left it quite a nice looking place to live, so long as you don't cross the local gangs and other unpleasant sorts.

The kindergarten is a recurring setting, where Miss Keane teaches the local kids. The Utonium household has a Laboratory in the Basement.

Professor Utonium
The Professor is the Powerpuff Girls' father and their one major weakness. He's a constant presence in their lives and a great target for Emotional Stress. If you need to put somebody particular in danger, he's your guy.

Affiliations
Team D4, Buddy D6, Solo D8
Distinctions
Maternal Caregiver
Brilliant Scientist
Specialties
Tech Master D10, Science Master D10, Psych Master D10

Opening Action Scene: Freaky Bug Eyed Weirdo Girls Break Everything!

The opening scene of the Event takes place in the play lot of Pokey Oaks Kindergarten. School has let out and some children have already gone home, but the majority are still here, hogging the swingset, taking every last one of the good balls, and chalk coloring on the blacktop.

The Powerpuffs will be playing as well and will probably be grouped together. Eventually Mitch, Marie, or another one of their classmates should run up and tag one of the Powerpuffs. She's it now.

For each opportunity that you take to grow the doom Pool, add a Scene Distinction to the location describing the resulting mass destruction. Toppled buildings, flying cars, craters, and lots of explosions should be made by the time the scene is over. These carry over all the way into the next act.

Transition Scene: Back At The Utonium Household
Back at home Professor wants to speak with the Puffs. The people out in Townsville are understandably panicking and hurting after the girls' game and he needs to put a stopper on the situation the best way he can.

I'm still figuring out how this scene would work. Any ideas?

Action Scene: The Devestaton; devestating
The Professor has been arrested for the creation of three superpowered children who wrecked everything. This was before he could pick them up from school. So now the Puffs are stranded at school and they can't find their way home. They have decided to attempt to walk home but they have gotten lost in the middle of Townsville.

There are two fights in this scene. One staving off Emotional Stress inflicted from the Doom Pool and the other with the Gangreen Gang. You can either take them directly to the Gangreen Gang fight or start out with showing them the destruction that came from their earlier game.

Represent the reactions of people on televisions displayed in shop windows, newspaper headlines, and the wreckage and rubble of their destruction as an action from the Doom Pool. Be sure to include the Scene Distinctions from the opening action scene.

When the Gangreen Gang springs up use the Puffs' own Emotional Stress against them.

After a round pay a doom die to put Jojo in the scene and come to the Puffs' aid with his trash can lid D12.

After the fight with the Gangreen Gang Jojo will run off into a nearby alleyway.

Action Scene: Nothing In This Gray Matters
The Girls will have little trouble catching up to Jojo. They will find him sitting in a box at the far end of an alleyway. His pink eyes peer out disdainfully from the shadows.

His main objective is to get the Puffs on his side and he's going to use emotional manipulation to do it. Since this is the last scene in the act don't hesitate to use your Doom Dice.

If he wins the conflict then he will tell them about the Help the Town And Make It A Better Place Machine. If the Puffs win then he'll give up and chase them away in frustration.

------------

Act Two will have two scenarios, depending on the result of this last action scene. One where they agree to help Jojo and another where they don't and he goes with his plan B; make the Rowdyruff Boys.
