Does anyone know if there are any apps out there where one person can put images or drawings up and then other people on other iPads see what the first person put out there?

Mapnakotic might do the trick, but I think you need a PC to host. I don't think the iPad can host a session.

Dicenomicon seems to be only for the iPad, and (alas for poor me) I have only an iPhone. Does Dicenomicon work on the iPhone and I misread, or is there a good roller for the smaller device?

It has a version Afro both the phone and the tablet. I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 4S and it runs on both just fine!

I just got it for my iPhone and it works just fine.

Check out Instagram, it sounds like what you are looking for. People put up photos and such, and then you can comment on them. I only just got it, and haven't messed with it, so I may be wrong!

What I really want is something that's live. Like, I drag an image onto the viewable area and it immediately appears on the other screens.

What about using a Google+ hangout? I think I saw a plugin for sharing pictures in real time. I could be wrong, though, since I've not really used it yet. I'm not sure if there's an app for it, but you could just do it in a browser.
