Printer-Friendly Hero Datafiles

Printer-Friendly Hero Datafiles

Postby Majestic » Sat Apr 07, 2012 11:09 pm

Hi there; I'm pretty new to the game, though I played it once at Gary Con 4 in Wisconsin. I enjoyed the game, and purchased the Operations Manual (and my friend ended up getting three more for himself and his roommates), so I'm hoping to play this some with my gaming group and/or family.

One disappointing thing about my first time playing the game was that the GM wasn't actually playing correctly. I'm a veteran GM (and actually have a currently running Supers campaign that is 21-1/2 years old), and I was quite surprised (as I read through the rules) to find out how many things were quite different from the way the game was introduced to me (for example, the Watcher for the game had us total all dice, rather than come up with two for a total and one more for an effect).

One thing I did see that the Watcher had for that game, was printer-friendly datafiles of the various heroes. Right now, as I'm teaching the game to my kids and others, the only option I've got (for most characters) is to make copies with my own printer. That's tough to do, uses a ton of ink, and also I get a really blurry right hand column (where the stress is recorded).

Is there a way to get datafiles that have a mostly white background, like this Watcher used?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it appears to be pretty printer friendly, and it's also form fillable, which lets you, if you want, have it print the character sheet already filled out.

Welcome to the boards, Majestic! As for the data files, they come with the PDF. Where did you get your book from? If it was your FLGS, you should see of they're a preferred retailer, because if they are you're entitled to the PDF bundle free! Othrwise, I believe the launch party stuff is available on file sharing sites and that comes with some of the datafiles, too.

Majestic, if you bought your book from Gary Con I can send you the PDF. Shoot me an email via the MWP site and we will take care of you.

Cheers,

Thanks so much, Cam. Yes, I purchased the book at Gary Con (and met Margaret and she was kind enough to sign my book!).

Thanks so much for the great customer service. I just played through another scene with my son, so counting the three I introduced the game to last night, that makes four people I've taught the game to already. People are digging it so far! 8-)

As I patiently await my PDF copy (having done some design work myself, I imagine Cam is quite busy), I'm wondering if any of you that have it could answer a question.

Does the PDF simply match the hard copy of the book? Or do the character datafiles have a version with a white background (instead of the dark blue), for less costly printing?

I'm going to be running this game for my gaming group this weekend (Saturday evening), so will be introducing a bunch more people to the game (should be me and six players!)

with the PDF you also get PF Datafiles, the Example of Play, Random Generator, etc.
So yeah, there are datafiles that dont take all your ink. :)

Got it today (thanks, Cam!).

You're right. These more printer-friendly datafiles are awesome, as are all of the other little goodies (I'd printed out other "Chat Sheets" I'd found on the net, but these are far better!)

Great customer service indeed! Thanks so much for getting this to me before my play session on Saturday, Cam! 8-)

How can we find out if a store is a preferred retailer? And where did the random character generator link go that was on the website main page?
