Cortex dice

Postby siebharinn » Sun Sep 23, 2012 6:17 pm

I got roped into running something for Harn at an upcoming local game con. Rather than muck around with Harnmaster, I'm using blue book Cortex, which then makes me want to run a Serenity game, and hey what do you know, I'm back in the old days.

Anyway, I stumbled across this site, where you can get custom dice for almost anything. I'm ordering some d2s, just to finally have some. In the past, I've used d6s with pips colored in various ways, but it will be nice to have some with numbers on them.

Some of the dice that he has for sale are pretty neat.

Great site. Thanks for the heads up. For d2s I just roll a d4 and say 1 and 3 is 1 and 2 and 4 is 2. Or for quick results, grab a Nickel, heads = 1 tails = 2

Any dice can be a d2: Even is 1, odd is 2.

Yes, but it always takes some time to figure out the result. Especially for players who are new to the system...

Throwing two dice and reading them directly is much easier to do.

Which explains why the d2 has been removed from the new version of the Cortex rules.
