GenCon sessions notes

Re: GenCon sessions notes

Postby Cam » Mon Aug 20, 2012 8:47 pm

The GenCon events are going to be cleaned up and then passed through Marvel for approval before going out to Preferred Retailers for their use in in-store gaming. They won't be made available as general bonus content DLC, since the aim is to provide our partner stores with exclusive stuff. That said, most of these characters are going to end up in a book at some point, more than likely.

Cheers,
Cam

That sounds very cool. They do make for good introductory scenarios.

Cam, please take this in the spirit in which it is intended. CURSE YOU FOR MAKING US WAIT! Now with that out of the way, how can I get my grubby little mitts on Nightcrawler and Illyana sooner rather than later? :D

I don't suppose those adventures could be made available to folks running MHR at other cons?

Once they're approved and available to Preferred Retailers, we'll also distribute them to our Event Runners at conventions that MWP isn't attending, yes. We want to give stores some time to get use out of them, though!

I played in my first session of MHR at GenCon, as StarLord leading the Guardians against Galactus and his Herald. It was, in a word, awesome. In several more words, I was extremely happy that I'd given up another conflicting event in order to attend the session, and it was entirely too fun to hit Galactus in the face with a space bus.

Thanks to all the GMs who ran, I'm definitely going to set aside some time at GenCon next year for MHR!

Cam, I don't suppose there is any chance of getting these approved for convention usage, since they are only potentially being okayed for in store promotion? It would be great to get to run these at the local con this winter.

I second this request. By end of October, if possible. Also, on a similar vein, is there an official MWP person to talk to about local con presence?

I got to play only two events, the first was the What if? Siege: New Mutants and
had a blast play X-23, it was with a first time GenCon goer, I can't remember his forum name but you did a great job!

I also got to play Modok's Eleven, that was sooooo much fun! Loved playing The Spot!

I was hoping all the Gen Con sessions would become available to the gen public as DLC but understand.

I loved that Cam and Margaret and staff that was there signed my Civil War book! I'm so proud of my book. :)
