Hyper Intelligence

The Amadeus Cho is a guy who uses his intelligence to get the best on folks, especially in fights. And just having 'Science Master' doesn't really seem to capture that. It really feels like that should be a power.

1. Exactly. And there are quite a few others in the Marvel U who fit the bill. Any hyper intelligent mutant for example. They get hit with a depowering doohicky and their smarts are gone. When that's their only power, where does that limit go exactly?

2. Very cool podcast.
My apologies for occasional spelling... shenanigans. I typically post from mobile devices.

Cypher is a great example. It'd be hard to make him up without some sort of super-cognition ability.

I can guarantee that any character who demonstrates hyper-intelligence can be written up using the system as it stands right now. But you'll just have to see that in action. :)

That said, the system is ALSO easy to modify and adjust to suit your needs, and in fact adding new powers is clearly brought up in the Operations Manual as an option. So go to town!

Cheers,

Definitely!

I haven't had any problems with this.

As I've said before, I pretty much look at all of the great work that you all have done in the book regarding Distinctions, Power Sets/Traits, SFX, Limits, Specialties, Milestones and Datafiles as just examples.

This is the first game in a long time that I see a blank slate in front of me everytime I sit down with the book. I don't feel ANY restrictions on my creativity in character creation or event creation.

I love a lot of games and enjoy a variety of playstyles, but I just can't say enough good things about MHR right now.

You and your crew should feel VERY proud of this work.

So for the Cipher example, would he have a powerset of "Extreme Linguistics" with an SFX that allowed him to gain a D6 and step up the effect die when creating an asset "I Understand Than Language" and take an action against the Doom Pool?
