Avengers Movie

Postby clackey » Fri Apr 27, 2012 2:38 am

I saw it last night and all I could think about was this game! It really made me look at how I run my game and how I could steal some stuff from it.

BTW, (no spoilers) it's not a perfect movie, but the good stuff is AMAZING! I can't wait to go see it again. My wife didn't like it as much as Ironman and Cap, but she's not into comics at all.

Living in the UK, we don't get a print copy of the game, but we get to see the Avengers movie 2 weeks early!

Yeah...I'm going first thing NEXT Friday morning.

I've had the day blocked off from work for a few months now.

This is something that my Dad and I do throughout the summer. He's the one that got me hooked on comics, superheroes and sci-fi...so we bond over the summer blockbusters every year.

My co-workers have learned that there are usually going to be about 5-6 Fridays that I won't be in the office between May-August.

Yeah, I'm taking the wife to see The Avenger midnight showing for her birthday gift. Marvel is so nice having their movies release on her birthday weekend every year for the past few years! It makes shopping for her birthday present really easy!

This year I'm going all out for her (since in previous years she was just girlfriend or fiancée): IMAX 3D!

Mmm...Black Widow in IMAX 3D... :p

I saw it in regular old 2D, because all the 3D was done in post production (not shot in 3D).

I'm DYING to talk about this movie, but no one has seen it yet. Gotta keep quiet!

I did a really good job of building it up in my head and I think I was a bit disappointed. Ironman is still my favorite. I watch it every time it's on TV and I still love it. I've seen Ed Norton's Hulk a few times and I like than one as well, but only saw Ironman 2, Cap and Thor once. I want to see them again now that I've seen avengers because there were some things in Avengers I wasn't sure about.

I saw it with a girl who never saw the other movies. She said she liked it though she had no idea what was going on. Strange, huh?

But the big battle at the end gave me some real inspiration for doing something similar in my MHR game!

And stick around after the credits! WOW! I couldn't believe my eyes!

Be careful...or next year you won't need to worry about the birthday gift at all!

:D

Although, come to think of it, Black Widow is also my wife's favorite part of the five movies leading up to Avengers and she is really looking forward to seeing her in the new movie. That's just hot!

This I'm disappointed in already. I REALLY liked Edward Norton in this role. I'm sure I'll like the new guy...but it is just a bummer anyway.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. With the way that they've been doing the movies lately, I always stick around...even when my bladder is ready to explode from the large $10 soda I drank.

Then when there ISN'T something at the end (I'm looking at you Ghost Rider 2!), I'm bummed out...and more than a little ticked.

Oh well...it doesn't last long as the need to run to the restroom overrides all other thought...

:)

No, it's only fair - the US gets printed copies of the MHRP rulebook, so we, the geeks of the UK, get to see Avengers early.

No worries. She can't wait to see Thor and his manly locks in IMAX 3D. She has a thing for long hair on men. There's attractive people that we both want to see in epic 3D, so it's a win/win!

Unfortunately, I'll have to see it in 3d, there's no 2d showing in my closest theater. Which sucks because I knew about the post production 3D when I went to buy the ticket.

And don't worry I'M SEEING IT TONIGHT! Yay! And tomorrow I'll run a test game at a game store, so people will probably be all excited cause I bet they will have already seen the movie. Finally my country is ahead at something. I remember the Iron Man 2 premiere was 1 week before US too.

Wow! You get a large soda for $10? Around here $10 gets us a bucket of ice and a thimble full of soda.... :(
