So at seperate times his power has been limited by:
a) his suit
b) being in britain
c) his confidence.

He should be called Captain Limitation of the week.

Still, at least we could all stat 2 versions each and they would all be valid. Does anyone else change this much??

Bucky/Winter soldier/Cap

Heh...and I think he had periods when his powers came from an amulet &/or scepter.

"I" probably wouldn't have given CB any D12's in his power set. Mostly because I don't see him as an uber-powerful character in the few places that I've read him (TSR Marvel Handbook and some comic cameos). But also because I'm American and I'm still pissed about that Tea Tax.

Hmmm...agent Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel/Warbird/Binary...

...Psylocke...English-Psychic-Captain Britain-X-Men-Asian-Hand Ninja-etc.-etc.

Jean Grey's had a bit of an up and down history going from telekinetic to telepath to after-life-yo-yo to Phoenix to Dark Phoenix and back again.

Oh...there are a LOT of characters that have been all over the place in their comic careers and power sets.

Oh! Hank Pym...mister alter ego himself! Hank Pym, Antman, Giant-Man, Goliath, Yellow Jacket...am I missing any?

These days, Captain Britain definitely has Godlike Strength d12 and Supersonic Flight d10. He's got a confidence-based Limit that shuts down his Power Set, too.

Cheers,

Even way back in Excalibur days, he was flew pretty damned fast. Not Phoenix, "LOL I'm on the other side of the world in like 5 seconds," fast, but really fast. I remember a bit where he's flying over the Atlantic with a couple other team members on his back. When asked why it was taking so long to get to America, he told them that he had to slow way down so that the force of the wind didn't rip them to bits.

And in the Excalibur days, his force field made him generally invulnerable to physical damage, as well. Whether that's Godlike Durability, the Invulerable SFX, or both, I dunno.

well, according to marvel's own wiki, he can "only" go about 770mph for a limited amount of time. He's also officially listed at 90 tons which I would list as Superhuman, but that's marvel I suppose. Piotr is listed at 75 and the game says he's godlike.

as far as godlike durability? I really can't remember seeing that, but then again I only ever read Excalibur back in the 90s.

If you're going to try to quantify strength ratings, Spider-Man is D10 and his upper limit is supposed to be around 10 tons. D8 is probably in the ballpark of 1-2 tons. So D12 strength is probably anyone who can lift 40-50+ tons.

770 mph is basically the speed of sound, but the game's classifications are sub-sonic or super-sonic.

The most recent Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe entry for Braddock (trade paperback version, volume 2) lists him as being able to lift "well in excess of 100 tons, fly at supersonic speeds, and survive in space" as well as perceive mystic spells and forces around him, etc. This is the version that's currently in the Secret Avengers.

This is mainly inspired by the Cornell stuff, so Captain Britain and MI13. There hasn't been enough of Brian in Remender's Secret Avengers yet to make a solid run of doing a more current write-up. Let me know what you guys think!
