Doom Pool Tracker

Doom Pool Tracker

Postby Tod316UK » Fri May 04, 2012 5:37 am

I've noticed a tendency during play for dice to become confused & for players to pick up my Doom Pool dice for their rolls, leaving me wondering what I had left afterwards. Even using different-coloured dice hasn't seemed to help. If this sounds like you, this play-aid was designed with you in mind. Simply place a number of glass beads or tokens equal to the dice in the pool on the relevant square, and there you have it! At-a-glance Doom Pool tracking, no fuss, no muss. Message me if this sounds like something you could use, and I'll send you a copy.
NOTE: Images of dice courtesy of the fine folks at Chessex.com, used without permission. Give 'em a look sometime, as they make some beautiful dice-sets, ideal for Marvel Heroic or any RPG.
Let me know what you think, guys :)

I generally use the following system for making sure players don't mistake my dice for theirs:

1. Verbal Warning.

2. Amputation.

3. There is no three.

I haven't seemed to have a lot of problems.

"No touchy my dice!"

Hey Tod,

Was there supposed to be an image or link to something in your thread? Or did I miss it?

If I could see a way to attach images, I would. I am not the world's best PC user

Bottom of the Post Message Screen, below the Submit Button, is a tab labeled Upload Attachment. Click it. Browse for file ... etc.

Hope it helps. :)

I like your sheet.

FWIW, I keep my Doom Pool dice in a shallow bowl. I also like the idea of using one of those low-walled pet turtle bowls (a Doom Pool - get it? Huh huh huh??? :D ) but I don't know if they even sell those any more, and they probably take up a bit more table space than I can easily devote to a DP.

Right back at you on cups and glasses. ;)

I do think a transparent glass/cup that lets everyone at the table see what dice are in the doom pool could work pretty well, yeah.

I was the only picture I could find of a Dr. Doom themed one. hehe

But yea I prefer transparent glasses or maybe ash trays (clean ones).
