I'm considering two or three Events next year, possibly with fewer supplements. We're not going to go as crazy with the schedule as we did this year, which was pretty ambitious. If we do only 6 books (some in dual editions) we're already better off publishing-wise.

I'd like to bring the Ultimate Comics universe into the game through an Event book. I'd like to do something more mainstream X-Men, but I'd also like to look at the various alternate realities like 1602, Noir, and 2099. The problem with all of these is that often there's not enough material to flesh out a whole book.

I'm considering Shadowland, which would be a great street-level Event.

I'm considering a lot of things. :)

Cheers,
Cam

As with everything, I would much prefer Cam and crew to come up with something realistic and meet those goals than to cater to unreasonable desires from customers. Nothing destroys a delicate balance like promising something and not delivering.

Make sure to avoid the Palladi...well, you know who's approach.

If you say you can do 6 and you do 8, thats wonderful but if you end up doing 4 because of Murphy and his Law then the community will kvetch and moan.

I'd like to see some of the Alt Reality or Mini Imprints. Some of them were actually really interesting and had some promise.

Here's a fairly recent shortlist
Marvel Mangaverse - Some interesting takes on old favorites.
Midnight Sons - Sorta missing the Marvel Mystic-verse.
2099 - As Spiderman 2099 keeps coming up in other media, it would be fitting to have the full universe statted up for some interesting cross-overs.

If there's any focus on Alternate Realities...

I hope we'll get an Exiles focused book. That would please me no end.

Perhaps something like Exiles World Tour would be an excellent jumping off point. That gives you a central plot linking multiple universes and allows you to use The Exiles and heroes from House of M, New Universe, 2099, Squadron Supreme (Earth 712), Future Imperfect and Heroes Reborn.

Looking at next year, since Avengers vs. X-Men will be done by then, that would make an awesome event to do. You'd have pretty much every single modern Avenger and X-Man. It'd even be a great 2-book set, 1 focused on the Avengers with the Secret Avengers mission to space along with their side of things in their various tie-in issues (like Iron Fist and his connection to the story) and then an X-Men book to represent that side (where we could get a look at Utopia, the Jean Grey school and its students, etc.). It'd be pretty easy to come up with 30 2-page datafiles for both sides. That's not even to mention the whole 'No More Avengers' thing that has been teased on comic book sites and what that will mean when the second Act starts in a couple months.

In terms of alternate realities, I'd much rather see a 2099 book for sci-fi/cyberpunk superheroes, than 1602 or Noir.
