In Justice League 12-16 they're having The Trinity War where they have Deadman, Green Arrow, Atom, Hawkman, and several other DC heroes.

what I'd like to do is put together a pdf that follows the current JLA run; stats for characters and maybe an event based on the first 6 issues ala the breakout event in the OM.

yup. can't wait. I would like to at least stat up those characters and whatever baddies come up. So far that's been the Key, Desaad, Darkseid, Steppenwolf, and whatever that... thing was in issue 7. Maybe even Starro since, for whatever reason, they show the JLA fighting Starro on that book cover over and over despite there being no story so far showing the encounter.

Anyone feel up to doing an early Golden Age Superman, back before he could fly?

Superman
Affiliations: Solo d10 Buddy d8 Team d6
Distinctions: The Man of Steel, Champion of the People, Spineless Kent
Power Sets:
Kryptonian Superman
Superhuman Durability d10 Superhuman Speed d10
Superhuman Leaping d10 Enhanced Reflexes d8
Enhanced Senses d8 Superhuman Stamina d10
Superhuman Strength d10
SFX: Unleashed: Step up or double any Kryptonian Superman power for one action. If the action fails, add a die to doom pool equal to the normal rating of your power die.
Limit: Smug Arrogance*: Any dice pool containing a Kryptonian Superman power causes 2s rolled to be activatable by the Watcher as opportunities (though these dice aren't removed from the pool like 1s).
Specialties:** Combat Expert, Covert Expert, Menace Expert
Milestones:
Lois Lane, You Will Be Mine...: 1 xp when Lois rejects Clark as a spineless worm; 3 xp when Superman protects Lois from danger or saves her from danger; 10 xp when Clark Kent actually manages to get some real, honest affection or respect out of Lois.
The Man of Tomorrow: 1 xp when you demonstrate your absurd superiority over your foe, taking the time to show off; 3 xp when you shut down a criminal gang or network because they're afraid to be punished by Superman again; 10 xp when you earn the respect of the human race, seeing that the great Superman has come to defend and protect them.

* Golden Age Superman had no weaknesses. He was, however, a tad on the aloof and arrogant side, and he would cause a lot of havoc meting out justice as he saw fit.
** Golden Age Superman wore disguises and inflitrated organizations all the time for his personal crusade and his journalism. And he was usually successful. As well he tended to scare the heck out of criminals!

My pleasure! I should note that while it might look like this Superman is a touch on the anti-hero side, he's just that kind of hero in the very early issues. He thrashes criminals, mocks and toys with people who get in his way, and has no real respect for the laws of mankind. All of this is born out of a deep respect for real justice and human compassion however - Superman believes in truth. I think as the comics progress and the stories change, that Smug Arrogance would be slowly replaced by a different limit (Kryptonite came in later on, and one could introduce that as a humbling element for Clark).

good stuff. the old golden age superman would have made for a breath of fresh air for the character following the new 52 relaunch, but like everything grant morrison does... you can bet it'll change and Action Comics has become just another Superman book. It's really a shame. I wouldn't go with "spineless kent" though. that distinction sounds too hard to turn into a positive.

I see Spinless Kent being an aid when Superman is trying to get into tough places as Kent - he's such a pushover, the guards think he'll behave, his coworkers aren't worried too much about him scopping the big story, etc. etc. I also see that early Superman will rapidly turn into a plot where Lois is trying to find out who he is (especially as she falls in love with Superman). This being said, how about "Mild Mannered Reporter"?

Mild Mannered Reporter would be what I'd go with. Also incidentally, Superman is my next "Let's Play...", so stay tuned. 8-)
